Boat pricing and optional extras: Only soft drinks are included in the quoted boat price. Decoration, cake service, catering, bar packages, chefs, entertainment, photography/video, kids' activity packages, water activities and surprise arrangements are optional extras at an additional charge, subject to availability. A yacht tour from Dubai Marina is the simplest way to see the city from the water: one departure point, one route, and a parade of the landmarks you already know from postcards — the Marina skyline, Ain Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis. But between the shared sightseeing cruises advertised online and the private charters we run from Dubai Marina, the options differ a lot in price, pace and what you actually see. This guide walks through the route leg by leg, how long to book, what it costs hour by hour, and how to pick the right boat — so you can plan the tour instead of guessing at it.

What a Dubai Marina yacht tour actually is

A "yacht tour" in Dubai usually means one of two very different things:

  • A shared sightseeing cruise — you buy individual seats on a larger boat that follows a fixed route at a fixed time, typically for AED 100–250 per person.
  • A private yacht tour — you charter the whole boat for your group, set the departure time, choose how long you stay out, and decide where to linger. This is what we arrange at Yacht Street, with hourly rates that start lower than most people expect.

The route is broadly the same for both. The difference is freedom: on a private charter you can slow down beside the Palm, anchor for photos, play your own music, and bring your own food and drinks on most boats.

Short on time? Tell us your group size and preferred date via the booking form and we'll reply with the best-fit boat, the exact route and an all-in price — no hidden extras.

The sightseeing route, leg by leg

Almost every yacht tour from Dubai Marina follows the same natural loop, and it works because each leg shows you something the last one couldn't.

Leg 1: The Marina canal

The tour begins inside the Marina itself, and don't rush past this part — the four-kilometre canal is an attraction in its own right. You'll glide between the towers of Dubai Marina, under the footbridges, past the promenades of JBR at the canal mouth. It's the only part of the tour where you're close enough to see people dining metres from the water, and it produces some of the best photos of the day, especially in the first or last hour of light.

Leg 2: Out past Bluewaters and Ain Dubai

Leaving the canal, the boat turns west along the coast, and Ain Dubai — the world's tallest observation wheel on Bluewaters Island — comes into full view from the water. This is the stretch where most tours open the throttles a little: there's genuinely nothing like seeing the scale of the wheel and the JBR skyline from a moving deck.

Leg 3: Palm Jumeirah and Atlantis

The signature leg. The route traces the outer crescent of Palm Jumeirah, giving you the full palm shape from the side — a perspective you simply cannot get from land — before Atlantis, The Palm rises ahead at the tip of the crescent. Most charters slow down here for photos; many anchor briefly for drinks or cake depending on the occasion.

Leg 4: The return, or the long way round

With time to spare, tours can extend along the coast toward Dubai Harbour and the Burj Al Arab skyline before returning. On a shorter booking, the boat heads back down the Marina canal, which looks completely different in the opposite direction and time of day.

How long should you book? 1, 2, 3 or 5 hours

Tour durations come in fixed blocks — 1, 2, 3 or 5 hours — and the right one depends on how much of the route you want to complete comfortably.

  • 1 hour — covers the Marina canal and a short run outside to see Ain Dubai and the JBR skyline. A quick taste, ideal for visitors fitting the tour between other plans.
  • 2 hours — the sweet spot for most groups: the full canal, Ain Dubai and Bluewaters, and a proper pass along Palm Jumeirah with time to pause for photos at Atlantis.
  • 3 hours — everything above at an unhurried pace, with time to anchor, swim if the boat allows, or settle in for catering. The most popular choice for families and small celebrations.
  • 5 hours — the full coastline toward Burj Al Arab, extended stops, sunset on the water, and catering or a BBQ on board. This is the version people remember.

Our honest advice: if you're torn between two durations, take the longer one. Tours rarely fail because they were too long — they disappoint when the boat has to turn back just as the good views start.

What a Dubai Marina yacht tour costs

Private tour pricing is simply the boat's hourly rate multiplied by your duration. Our current fleet from Dubai Marina:

YachtSizeHourly rateBest for
Prestige 3535 ftAED 550 per hourCouples and small groups, quick tours
Pearl 4848 ftAED 650 per hourCouples and small groups, quick tours
Ammos 5050 ftAED 750 per hourSmall groups wanting comfort on a 2–3 hour tour
Onyx 9090 ftAED 1,100 per hourLarger groups, celebrations on the water
Bella Vita 6666 ftAED 800 per hourPremium tours with flybridge views
Crown 9090 ftAED 1,800 per hourBig-group sightseeing with full catering

So a two-hour sightseeing tour on the Ammos 50 works out at AED 1,500 for the whole boat — under AED 200 per person if you fill ten seats, which is why private charters often beat shared cruises once your group passes four or five people.

A few pricing notes so nothing surprises you:

  • Minimum durations apply on weekends and public holidays — typically two hours on smaller boats and three on the larger ones.
  • Add-ons are optional and priced separately: BBQ catering runs around AED 120–150 per person, decorations from AED 450, and a birthday cake from AED 250.
  • Only soft drinks are included in the quoted boat price. Request an itemised quote for captain, crew, fuel, insurance and any other arrangements before you pay.

Private charter vs shared tour: which should you choose?

The rule of thumb: up to three people who just want the views, a shared cruise is fine. From four or five people — or anyone marking an occasion — a private tour from Dubai Marina wins on price and experience.

The best time of day for a yacht tour

  • Morning (9–11 am) — calmest water of the day, clearest long-distance views of the Palm and Atlantis, best light for photographs without harsh midday glare.
  • Midday — strong sun; fine in winter, hot from May to September. Choose a boat with an air-conditioned cabin and shaded deck.
  • Sunset (board roughly 90 minutes before sundown) — the most popular and the most beautiful: golden light on the Marina towers, Ain Dubai silhouetted against the orange sky, then the city lighting up on the return. We publish month-by-month sunset times in our sunset cruise guide.
  • After dark — the skyline tour, with the Marina and Bluewaters fully lit. Cooler, dramatic, and underrated in summer.

October to April is peak touring season — mild, calm and ideal on the water. Summer tours run happily too, just booked for morning or evening slots.

What's included, and what to bring

Only soft drinks are included in the quoted boat price. Do not assume captain, crew, fuel, water, ice, towels or audio services are included. Catering, decoration, cake service, photography and activities are optional extras at an additional charge. Confirm your selected yacht's amenities and the full itemised quote before booking.

Worth bringing with you:

  • Sunscreen (the sea breeze hides how strong the sun is)
  • Sunglasses and a hat — the deck glare off water is real
  • Your own snacks, or pre-ordered catering
  • A light layer for evening tours, even in summer
  • Your camera — the Palm leg is the one people regret not photographing

Swimwear is worth packing from April to November: several boats in our fleet can anchor at a calm stretch so you can swim off the platform.

Seven tips for a better yacht tour

  1. 1Book 3–5 days ahead for weekday tours; a week or more for sunset slots and weekends in season.
  2. 2Board early, not on time — arriving 15 minutes before departure means the tour itself runs the full duration.
  3. 3Tell us the occasion when booking. Proposal, birthday, family day — the crew can position the boat for the best photo moments.
  4. 4Ask about the swim stop when choosing your boat if swimming matters to your group.
  5. 5Check the weather window with us a day before; in rare wind the captain may adjust the route toward the calmest water.
  6. 6Split the cost — the hourly rate covers the whole boat, so per-person math improves with every friend you add.
  7. 7Take the Palm leg slowly — ask the captain for five minutes off Atlantis. It's the photo everyone wants.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a yacht tour in Dubai Marina cost?

Private tours start at AED 550 per hour for a 48-foot yacht and run to AED 1,800 per hour for a 120-foot superyacht. A two-hour sightseeing tour for a small group typically costs AED 1,300–2,200 for the entire boat — far better value per person than shared cruises once you're four or more.

How long is the Dubai Marina yacht tour route?

The standard loop — Marina canal, Ain Dubai, Palm Jumeirah and Atlantis, and back — fits comfortably in two hours. With three to five hours you add swim stops, extended coastline views toward Burj Al Arab, and time to relax at anchor.

Do yacht tours go close to Palm Jumeirah and Atlantis?

Yes. The route traces the outer crescent of the Palm, which is what gives you the full palm-shape view, and slows opposite Atlantis at the crescent tip for photos — the single most photographed moment of the tour.

Can you swim during a yacht tour?

On most boats in our fleet, yes — we anchor at a calm stretch between landmarks and guests swim off the platform. Ask us to confirm swim access when choosing your boat, and bring towels; confirm availability and any additional charges for ice, glasses, coolers, towels or serving assistance before booking.

Is food included on a Dubai Marina yacht tour?

Only soft drinks are included in the quoted boat price. All optional services are charged separately. Catering is optional: BBQ packages from around AED 120 per person, or you're welcome to bring your own food on most vessels. We confirm what's included in your written quote.

What's the best month for a yacht tour in Dubai?

October through April offers the most comfortable conditions — mild temperatures and calm seas. May to September is warm but perfectly workable with morning tours or evening departures after 5 pm.

A Dubai Marina yacht tour is one of those rare activities where the private option isn't a luxury upgrade — it's often the cheaper one. Pick your duration, gather your group, and the city's best views are an hour's notice away.
