Boat Party in Dubai: Shared Party Cruises vs a Private Boat — and How to Choose
Shared boat party cruises or a private boat? What each is like, what a private boat party in Dubai Marina really costs from AED 550 per hour, and how to book the right one.

Boat pricing and optional extras: Only soft drinks are included in the quoted boat price. Decoration, cake service, catering, bar packages, chefs, entertainment, photography/video, kids' activity packages, water activities and surprise arrangements are optional extras at an additional charge, subject to availability. Do not assume captain, crew, fuel, water, ice, towels or other services are included; request a complete itemised written quote before booking.
Search "boat party Dubai" and you get two very different products: ticketed shared party cruises that sell seats by the person, and private boats you rent by the hour for your own group. Both are genuine boat parties. They suit completely different occasions, budgets and crowds — and booking the wrong one is the most common mistake people make.
This guide explains how each works, what a private boat party in Dubai Marina really costs, and how to pick the right one for your group.
The quick answer
- Shared boat party cruise — you buy tickets for a fixed departure, usually with a DJ, food and drinks bundled into the ticket. Great for couples and small groups who want a big, club-style atmosphere on the water.
- Private boat party — you rent the whole boat by the hour. Your group, your music, your route, your timings. Better for birthdays, hen nights, corporate nights out, and anyone who wants the party to belong to their guests only.

What a shared boat party in Dubai is like
Shared party cruises run on large boats that depart at fixed times from Dubai Marina and other piers, selling admission by the person. A typical ticket bundles the cruise, a DJ or live entertainment, and food or drinks packages. The crowd is mixed — couples, tourists, birthday groups — and the atmosphere is closer to a nightclub that happens to be moving.
Because tickets are sold per person, a shared cruise is the cheapest way to get a big party atmosphere on the water. The trade-off is control: you are locked into the operator's timings, menu, route and guest list, and you share the deck with strangers. If the idea is your group, your music and the boat to yourselves, a ticket will not give you that.
Ticket prices change constantly by operator, day of the week and season, so we will not quote figures here — compare exactly what is included (food, drinks, seating, timing) before you buy.

What a private boat party really costs
Private boats in Dubai rent by the hour, with a two-hour minimum. Larger boats often carry a three-hour minimum on weekends. Current rates for our fleet:
| Boat | Group size | Hourly rate | 3-hour total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prestige 35 | Up to 8 guests | AED 550 | AED 1,650 |
| Pearl 48 | Up to 15 guests | AED 650 | AED 1,950 |
| Majesty 50 | Up to 15 guests | AED 650 | AED 1,950 |
| Ammos 50 | Up to 15 guests | AED 750 | AED 2,250 |
| Bella Vita 66 | Up to 25 guests | AED 800 | AED 2,400 |
| Onyx 90 | Up to 50 guests | AED 1,100 | AED 3,300 |
| Crown 90 | Up to 50 guests | AED 1,800 | AED 5,400 |
That is the whole boat for your group — crewed, fueled for your route, with soft drinks on board. Everything festive beyond that (food, bar, décor, entertainment) is an optional extra charged separately, which we come back to below.

A worked example: 20 guests, three hours
A group of 20 needs a boat with space for at least 20 — that puts you on the Onyx 90 at AED 1,100 per hour.
- Boat hire, three hours: AED 3,300 — about AED 165 per guest
- Optional catering, say AED 120 per guest: AED 2,400
- Optional decoration, from AED 450
All in, that is roughly AED 6,150 for the evening — about AED 310 each — before optional bar packages or photography. The same calculation for a smaller group on the Bella Vita 66 or Ammos 50 comes out lower, which is why it is worth matching the boat to your headcount rather than defaulting to the biggest deck.
Choosing a boat by occasion
- Birthday — bring a cake, décor and a playlist. Our birthday yacht guide covers packages and planning.
- Hen or bachelorette night — a private boat keeps the group together; decoration and entertainment are extras you can add.
- Corporate night out — seating, catering and branding matter more than loud music. Start with corporate yacht charter in Dubai.
- New Year's Eve — the fireworks boats sell out months ahead. Read the New Year's Eve party guide early.
- Date night or anniversary — you do not need a party boat; you need good timing. The sunset cruise guide explains the golden-hour route.
- The big one — proposals. See how to plan a marriage proposal on a yacht.
Music, food and the extras that make the night
Only soft drinks are included in the quoted boat price. Everything that turns a cruise into a party is an optional extra at an additional charge: catering from about AED 120 per guest, decoration from AED 450, plus cake service, bar packages, DJs and photographers quoted on request. Ask our concierge for an itemised written quote so you know the full cost before the day.
On a private charter the playlist is yours — every boat has an on-board sound system. For a complete party-planning walkthrough (guest lists, running order, entertainment), our yacht party guide covers it in depth.
When to go and where you sail
The best boat parties start in the final stretch of daylight. Departing about 90 minutes before sunset gives you golden-hour photos, the sun going down behind the Palm, and the full Marina skyline lit up on the way back. Night departures suit New Year and dinner-style parties; midday works better for swimming stops.
Season matters too. November to March is the most comfortable time to be on deck, while summer evenings stay pleasantly busy after dark — our month-by-month guide breaks it down.
Five mistakes to avoid when you book a boat party
- 1Booking a ticket when you wanted a private boat. Shared cruises are great value, but you cannot control the guest list, the music or the timings.
- 2Underestimating headcount. Count firm RSVPs plus a buffer; a boat that is too small changes the whole night. Every boat lists its maximum guests above.
- 3Assuming food, drinks and décor are in the hourly rate. They are not — only soft drinks are included. Get the extras quoted in writing.
- 4Leaving the booking to the last week. Winter weekends and holidays fill first; two to three weeks ahead is the safe minimum, more for December.
- 5Ignoring the departure point and time. Marina traffic, parking and boarding take longer than people expect — arrive early and start relaxed.
